P-47 Right Side Cockpit - Installatio of modern radio's remote heads. This panel is easily removed with quick fasteners and canon plugs so that the cockpit is 100% original.


P-47 Cockpit - Installation of modern radios. The remote radios are mounted under the pilots seat for ease of accessability.


P-47 Cockpit - Installation of modern radios - Onced the seat is installed the radios are not seen so people viewing the cockpit see a 100% original cockpit.

P-47 - Left Wing in a rotisserie fixture. After the wing sheet metal is complete the wing is put into a 360 degree rotating fixture which greatly speeds up the component installation time.


P-47 - Left wing here during the restoration the wing is roatated to allow for ease of wiring and parts installation.


P-47 Firewall forward left sideview, new fabricated oil tank installation. As seen in our metal forming shop pictures WestPac has been fabricating P-47D oil tanks. Here is a completed tank installed in the aircraft.

P-47 Details - New wooden pilots seat - Seen here is the completed pilots seat complete with original seat belts and shoulder harness. The original cotton woving is used and the bolts are tested and certified to TSO standards.


P-47 Details - Wiring all of the wiring is installed using the original terminal strips, hardware wire tying and electrical components.


P-47 Details - Wiring all of the wiring has the manufactures specifications for cotton woven color codings, wire markings and plastic insulation. All original cannon plugs with the process specifications for finishes are used thru out the entire restoration.


P-47 Details - Stamps and decals all of the original stamps are manufactured and installed onto the aircraft. Decals are manufactured with all of the original fonts, colors and processes. This is the extent needed to produce exacting standards in restoration, no detail is to small to no do right.


P-47 Details - Instrument markings - All original (radium) instrumentation faces are replaced with dials that glow under ultra violet lighting but meet the requirements of current EPA standards.


P-47 Left Side Cockpit - After all of the sheet metal work is complete and the cockpit is painted the installation of componenets starts. Note: The airduct along the side supplying air from the turbo supercharger to the carbureator.


P-47 Center Cockpit - Installation of the rudder peddles and brake master cylinders. All of the tubing is plumbed for hydraulics and instrumentation.


P-47 Right Side Cockpit - Installation of the right side components, mostly radio boxes prior to wiring.


P-47 Left Side Cockpit - Final installation of trim consol, landing gear handle and throttle quadrant.


P-47 Left Side Cockpit - Final installation of flap controls, air vents, pilots check list, fuel selectors and electrical box.


P-47 Left Side and Center Cockpit - Final installation of left side cockpit and center cockpit switch panel and instrumentation.


P-47 Center Cockpit - Final inspection of instrument panel and K14 gun sight. Note: Fully functional hand pump engine primer.


P-47 Right Side Cockpit Aft - Final installation of modern radio control heads, original radio control boxes, map cases and alarm bell.
